Sikkim, a north eastern state of india boasts of the
lowest crime rate in the world.
The lure of state's flora, fauna and the diverse culture
is hightened by the safety consideration. As a result
the state receives a number of tourists. To facilitate
the growth of tourist traffic, the government of sikkim
has accorded priority to the developement of
infrastructure. Sikkim has approximately 280
monasteries. Plans are underway to open five new tourist
circuits in the south and west Sikkim.
A proposal has been presented to the union government to
make Bagdogra and SAARC airport. The already open
Nathu-La Pass and an international airport could prove
to be great forex earners for the country. Sikkim
tourism provids sightseeings by five seater helicopter.
