CORONATION TREK

Sikkim has a rich three hundred years old history with
Miwang Chogyal Chempo Palden Thondup Namgyal being the
last and the 12th consecrated Chogyal of Sikkim. The
written history of Sikkim starts in Yuksam.
This low altitude trek in West Sikkim follows a trail
through the history of Sikkim. On this trek, one can
witness the Coronation throne at Yuksam- meaning the
meeting place of three superior ones, where the 1st King
of Sikkim Phunstok Namgyal was coroneted in 1641 A.D.
The trek offers you an insight into the culture of
Sikkim with a visit to Buddhist monasteries in
Pemayangtse, Tashiding, Yuksam and Khechoperi. This is a
moderate trek for all ages at an easy pace hiking
through Cardamon fields, tranquil villages, lush green
trails with springs and waterfalls. For any trekkers and
hikers, this trek is a blend of adventure, nature and
culture of Sikkim.
